What would you like to know?

Zim, I read your post and yes I will help you inshAllah. Actually how about this, why don't you do random surveys from all over the country? One place that i dread going anywhere near unless I absolutely need to is Bexley, get a non-muslim to do it down there, and get their opinion on things

    ManiacMuslim Gabbly Chat

I was never around on gabby when Zilam was there, man whenever im on no one else is. And yeh its true, keeping everyone guessing who you are is fun - but peoples always guess it when im there, when they ask me i tell em who i am but when i ask them they never tell me. Also, one more thing, have people noticed how theres always one person who never talks, but is always there? Freaky.

    ManiacMuslim Gabbly Chat

I like Gabby! It can turn real nasty/wrong at times, but sometimes I think its really nice. Yesterday, I was "Chingum" because i was Chewing Gum and thats the only thing i could think of! But yunno i've noticed im probably one of the wierdos who like to proper spam in the random gabby chats, come there and yell random words, just for fun I know I know, i must be lacking something in my life to have to resort to that for fun, =( I need fooood! Proper paki spicy foood, inshAllah when i see mi madre i'll get some of her. But yeah anyways back to Gabby, as long as people rememeber to observe the same hayah/decency around members of the opposite gender as you do on the main forum where everyone can see your posts, and as long as your talk properly, behave and use your time efficently, and try not to flirt - yes yes people do try and do that, you know what im talking about... Oh and also stop hiding behind usernames, let us know who you are! Its so wierd talking to strangers, I don't like going in there anymore coz people won't tell me who they are and I always say who I am, and its a bit wierd when you don't know who you're talking to. :|

What would you like to know?

Hey Zim, I wanted to ask you this yesterday typed up my post then deleted it. But now ima ask you again! Whos your target audience? Anyone and everyone who can be bothered to pick up a leaflet and read? Middle-aged people who actually read stuff and think about it - when they convert it can make sense, but when young people convert, I dunno it really amazes me because its sucha major decision, how do they do it? How do you do dawah to people that are teenagers/don't read leaflets? Im just thinking of mates of mine who have 3-4 kids by the age of 19, others who stopped going school after 16, normal average people who I know wouldn't really read stuff, how would you go about introducing/explaining/riding misconceptions? How do you approach them? Im not in touch with any of them. Is it possible to have something thats geared towards kids too? A non-muslim person that I was talking to once, he was just really curious about Islam, asking me about why I practise? if I was forced into it, grew up believing it - I think it really suprised him that people can genuinely CHOOSE Islam as a way of life and not just go ahead with it because they've brought up that way. He asked me about hijab, and about gender-relations. It sounded like he was trying to figure out how your average muslim lives his life, and generally really curious. I dunno how to explain it, but like yunno when you get a new toy and you think "oooh what is this like? oooh how does that work" - lol, basic stuff and you want to know how it works, and how everything ties in together, it was like that. I know this is a probably a really basic suggestion, but yunno all the points that are used to demonise/malign muslims/Islam - clarify them. Seriously if i hear one more time about "hijab opressing women" ima take out my hijab pin and poke em in the eye! Omg! i know! Do a survey! omg yeaaah! I'll help you when i come down, conduct a proper survey asking people what they'd actually like to know about Islam, what they think about Islam, you can get non-muslim mates to do it, to get peoples honest opinions! And you can approach people from all sortsa backgrounds/age/areas and get a rough idea of what they wanna know?

    Understanding the Quran

Assalamalaikum, May Allah swt help Sister Who get her work sorted, may Allah swt help Sister Who increase in ilm, imaan and taqwa and may Allah swt and her mum be pleased with her, May the angels around me say ameeen to this duah and then make the same dua for me and every other muslim..ameen thum ameen ^ lol best way to force you guys to make dua for me Arrright, so the the reason I made this thread is because i found an absolutely wicked transcript of a lecture, unfortunately I really struggle with listening to lectures I have a really short attention span, so i read this http://www.kalamullah.com/Books/Understanding%20the%20Quran.pdf you can read that or go to kallamullah.com > lectures > Anwar Alawaki > Understanding Quran Its nice, it stressed the importance of not just reading the Quran, but understanding it and implenting it. Not knowing Arabic, or not understanding Arabic is not an excuse for not reading/understanding/implementing it. Remember me in your duas! And feel free to post more Quran-related links if you want =D

What would you like to know?

Why Islam? Why is it so important to beleive in a religion? Why not any other relgion? What if you don't beleive? Whats the point of Islam? Why can't you be a "good person" without relgion? What if you just don't want to follow one? Whats the big deal with hell and heaven? I haven't read anything yet which will make me think "oh yeah i need to convert/read more into Islam". I don't know what kinda views non-muslim have on following a relgion, but i know when i didn't practise Islam I wouldn't have picked up any random leaflet and gotten into it. What got me into it was a "God said this, God said that", I already loved God, so alhumdulilah it was easy, so for those people who have no love/understanding of God how do you stress the importance of following Islam, when they don't "need" it? Why open up a book and read up on this, when you can go out smoke rubbish, get drunk, have a laugh? That's why im always so curious, what makes people change so much and give up so much for Allah swt.

    Random Islamic Questions

There is something really awkward about taking advice on hair, something thats awrah, from a non-mehram man. I was asking generally about women shaving hair, why the need for it? In my head I consider that a necessity because I see it as you're doing something to help your situation get better, sometimes conditioners/oil/egg/sea kelp tablets/UV radiation treatment doesn't work. So yeahhh.
