    Homesexuality And Islam

Within the past year only, i've met way too many homosexuals. meeting such people did change my view to a certain level. It made me understand things in a bit of different way. It's a taboo in the Muslim communities but alhamdulillah it's starting to be discussed more often than not. Read the following, along with the comments. http://muslimmatters.org/2009/04/13/dealing-with-homosexual-urges/

    The Dehijabization Phenomenon

one sin doesn't justify another. If you think that you're committing major sins, then it does not make it any more acceptable to dismiss the act of wearing the hijab. One of the things that stuck to me the most from AlMaghrib's tazkiyah class is that Allah ta'Ala doesn't tell you not to follow shaytaan. Allah ta'Ala tells you not to follow the footsteps of shaytaan. Thinking that you're not ready for the hijab because you are doing many other things that are considered inappropriate for the one who wears hijab is, in my opionion, a trick of shaytaan. Lilmonsta, you said it well. At the end of the day, it's not about what you should or should not do as a mahajjaba, rather it's about what you should or should not do as a Muslima. I really believe that when you take that step closer to Allah, Allah will come closer to you and make your path easier. Of course with it comes responsiblity...but life is always full of responsiblities and there's no way to run away from that. And Allah knows best

How NOT to be a Two-face

r-z makes a good point. What's the definition of being two faced? When you say two faced, do you consider that person to be a hypocrite? Is being two faced always bad? I cant seem to find the exact source but if you can find it, read up on the story of Handala (sp?) who told the Prophet sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam that he had turned into a hypocrite because when he was wit the Prophet and the companions at the masjid he acted differently than he did when he was at home with his family. However, the Prophet sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam didn't condemn him as a hypocrite for that and din't tell him that what he was doing was wrong nor was he given advice on how he could change that. There is a time for everything. Our personlaities change depending the people we are with. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. For example, there are certain people with whom i can talk to openly about anything and i'm not afraid to tell them what i think, while there are others in front of whom i tend to stay quiet. The first person might think that i'm very outgoing and outspoken while the second one might think that i'm extremely shy and quiet. I just develop different personalities with different people depending on my level of comfort when being with them. I don't consider it wrong. If one is sinning when with one person, and is being pious when in the company of another, then i don't believe the goal should be to get rid of the two facedness. The goal should be to stop sinning altogether. Building the concept of Al-Muraqqaba within ourselves is a good way to ensure there is somewhat of a consistncy in our actions.

The cute things that kids say...

I had boxes of Jello of different fruit flavours so i started playing a guessing game with two 4 year olds. The first one smelled the box and said it was strawberry. The other looked at the box and said "No, it's apples-on-a-stick flavour!"
