  1. Asalaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Needed to ask loads of questions regarding the permissibility of jobs? Many jobs are not permissible in this day and age because you are earning by sinning in some form, or helping another person to sin. And so this money becomes haraam for you. It may not be wise to spend it on anything. Even Hajj may not be accepted with this money. So what are the best jobs for Muslims to get into? (I've made a small breakdown). Just add your thoughts and opinions, and true and false with reasons. JazakAllah Can we work in newsagents or supermarkets if they sell alcohol? There's a question mark over supermarkets because you can work there? Does anyone have any proof of this? Can you work in a chemist etc, as some medication has alcohol in it? Apparantly a Shaykh (on SeekersGuidance I think) has stated that it is haraam to sell indecent clothing, so does this rule out all retail shops, except shoe shops? But also I was told that it's ok to work in these shops and sell these clothes, but the sin is upon the person who wears the clothing in the wrong place? Also are novels haraam or doubtful (because they take you away from the remembrance of Allah)? If so, can we work in book shops or libraries? Also, is it ok to work in islamic shops? They sell nasheeds there, and these days nasheeds are literally like music now, so are we allowed to work somewhere where this is sold? We can't work in banks because of interest? According to another Shaykh, you can work in a toy shop, as long as the toys have no music in them. But on another side note, Dr. Zakir Naik says that its ok to buy toys for kids with music in them if the child is 8 or under. So what are the options available to us? Some Shaykhs are kinda contradicting each other? Wasalaams
  2. Did anyone watch these? It was so awesome man. It's only been released in UK for now, but international release in gonna follow. It basically showed how many different people live on a daily basis all around the world, and if it wasn't possible due to extreme environmets, then they showed how they made it possible.
  3. Ok, I'm going to rephrase the question. Are we educating ourselves at the expense of innocent lives? Where are our education fees going? Is it funding the wars of iraq and afghanistan? If so, how'd you feel about that? I wanna know everyone's thoughts on this. I know tax we can't really control. Or can we? But where exactly is our university fees going? If it's not benefitting the government then why has it been raised? What's going on?
  4. Salaams, So dunno about you guys, but when i make a friend, I like getting to know them properly. i.e. their likes/dislikes, their views on specific subjects, or new ideas etc. But I've noticed in this day and age, you only ever hear from someone when they want or need something, which shouldn't be the case. People can still get in touch with someone just to see how they are doing etc. What's everyone's views on this?

Would you be interested in writing transcripts for a few lectures, to help make Islamic knowledge accessible to those with an hearing impairment?
