  1. Yes. Britaniyyun/Al-Britaniyyu Hm, I've never come across one before. sorry. All books. The impact of ila will take precedence here because ila is directly related to mudeer here. However, it won't always be that precedence is given to the closest case. E.g. In surah Maidah, the verses about Wudhu state اغْسِلُواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُواْ بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَينِ. 'Aghsiloo wujoohakum wa aidiyakum ilal maraafiqi wa amsahoo bi ru'oosikum wa arjulakum ilal ka'bayn. 'Wash your faces and your two hands to the elbows and wipe your heads, and your feek to the ankles.' The word 'arjulakum' (in blue) is preceeded by 'bi' (in orange) which makes the word ru'oosu' become 'ru'oosi'. So one would assume it would be 'arjulikum' due to the 'bi', however it is actually 'arjulakum'. This is because the grammatical impact is from the word 'Aghsiloo' (in red), thus the understanding is that the command is to wash the feet up to the ankles. Thus it is in a Mansoob case and not a Majroor case. This is important because it can skew the whole meaning of the verse. If one reads it assuming 'bi' has the grammatical impact then it will translate with the meaning that you should wipe your feet up to the ankles. This is wear Shia and Sunni differ. Shia believe it to mean 'wipe your feet' whilst Sunnis believe it to be 'wash'. I'm not sure the Shia rationale behind it, but as you can see the Sunnis use grammar to prove their point. Sorry for dragging it on, just thought I'd make it interesting.
  2. By simple carbs do you mean strictly white bread, white rice etc? Or do you also mean sweets, chocolates, cakes etc? I don't eat sweets or anything so I'm not really strict with my carbohydrate intake, as I tend to intermittent fast. It's an amazing way to keep calorie levels low, yet still enjoy your favourite food.
  3. As others have said, you should consume fruits and vegetables with a high water content. You could try making a salad (fruit or vegetable) for iftar/suhoor. Also you should try and stagger your water intake between iftar and suhoor; that way your body will absorb the water, thus water levels will remain constant. Consuming too much water in one go will mean your renal system to kick in and filter out the 'excess' water. In other news... I had water and 2 slices of toast with peanut butter.

Alhamdulillah, I have soooooo much more to learn though. Some things I can't read. It comes with learning grammar and being familiar with words/verbs and their patterns.

  11. Seems like something to do with the belief that Prophet Isa (As) will not descend during The End of Times.
