As-salamu 'alaikum folks,

Can anybody recommend good Islamic PDFs that I can upload to my Kindle? I've got varied interests and they don't necessarily have to be books, any articles or opinion pieces would be good too!

I've got a few so far and need humbly for you all to give me your recommendations too please!

Thank you :)

can the kindle display any pdf, or text only ones?

Any!

It converts whatever image is on the PDF and if it's in colour it will make it that grayscale thing. Now enough of the questions, gimme the goods rammy!

Salaam, I've been studied this Kalaam Pack for a while. It's a bunch of proofs for God that might be worth a read.

It won't attach, and it was made by a friend. If you want it, we can figure something out.

So I don't really know what a Kindle is, but I'm just guessing that you're asking for interesting books/articles from the net?

If so, check THIS article out. My boss over the summer gave it to me to read and it's fantastic. Really interesting and thought-provoking: Does the stress of living in a white-dominated society make African Americans get sick and die younger than their white counterparts? Apparently, yes. It's quite lengthy but 100% worth the read.

Holy hell that sounds like a bunch of variables to control for.

And a kindle is Barnes & Noble's new e-book reader.

^Thanks! It's a good article though, give it a read.

Also, I just realized you[Zimarina] asked for Islamic articles & the like. My bad. You can find some Islamic connection to it, surely. But my bad for not reading the first post properly.

This important book covers an area about which most people have very little knowledge but which is at the same time, of vital interest to all human beings. It outlines what happens to the human soul from the moment of death until the arrival of the Day of Judgement.

It describes the death process itself, the exact relationship of the soul to the body, the states of the soul after it leaves this world, and the nature of the ongoing relationship between the dead and those who are still alive. Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah was born into a scholarly and virtuous family in 691 AH/ 1292 A.D. At that time Damascus was a centre of literature and thought. Many schools were located there and he studied and graduated under the protection, direction and sponsorship of his father. He was particularly influenced by his Shaykh and teacher Ahmad b. Taymiyyah, and also by Ibn ash-Shirazi amongst others. Layla Mabrouk, an eminent, contemporary, Egyptian scholar has skillfully abridged a classic work by the well know scholar.

You are a genius rammstein! Thank you, thank you!

Past the really 'idiots guide' version of the kalaam (cosmological argument) that stuff usually makes my head pop to be honest. I'm willing to try however, perhaps link or email it over?

Au contraire! I was actually in two minds whether I should put this request in the main book section or here, but decided against putting it in the literature section incase people started linking me to Twilight or Paulo Coelho (don't know which makes me vomit harder) but alas. I am actually really very much interested in all things social-sciency. My only condition is that whatever it is, it is a PDF or e-book (free!). Since I graduated, I lost my previous Athens log in so am completely cut off from the playground of all those sociology review articles etc.

So yes, on a general note anything interesting like that is more than welcome!

I was told that it was a custom job: several books and articles spliced together into a PDF, so I have no links. However, I can send it over to you via e-mail attachment. What's the addy?
