Online TESL/TEFL

Recommended Posts

If you are applying from Pakistan, you are right about needing TOEFL or IELTS to get in to grad school. Also the thing about Europe and America is right as far as I know. What is your field?

TESL/TEFL is teaching English as a foreign language. That is suitable for teachers who are going to teach English to non english speakers. But if the university accepts TEFL/TESL as a qualification for English knowledge, fine I guess.

No, I most probably won't be applying from Pakistan. But even if I am, won't it suffice that I have got good scores in SAT English and have studied in a British school? Can't they tell the level of a person's spoken and written English from things like that? My field is biological sciences. So you think taking IELTS is better?

Lol I know what TESL/TEFL are :P I only mentioned it in my original post because I was trying to say that although they are different from IELTS/TOEFL, I was just posting my question in here because I didn't think it needed an entire thread of its own. :)

If you studied in an English school, SAT scores alone may be enough, but it's up to the university in the end. Some uni's are fussy and want TOEFL/IELTS in top of SAT. You need to read the application process and requirements for each uni.
