What DoesThe Religion of Islam Prohibit?

Almighty Allah is the All Wise and most Merciful. He never prohibits something until and unless it regarded as harmful to man. The true faith and love for Allah is displayed and showed in refraining from the acts that are prohibited in Islam, even if all these acts are according to the wish of a person. The Muslim must seek our for pleasure and Allah has given lots of precedence what pleases Allah.


Here are some major sins mentioned in the religion Islam:


1) Hating the Religion Islam and humiliating it.

2) Dissatisfaction with the decree of Allah or cursing of time or getting failed to succeed.

3) Making the law in which Almighty Allah has made unlawful or vice versa. Speaking about what you are not aware of Islam.

4) Innovating in Islam, like for example saying the intention of a person very loud and celebrating the birth of Prophet by celebrating the night of mid-Shaban.

5) Insulting or making fun of any of the companions of Prophet.

6) Believing and acting on magicism or fortune telling.

7) Not observing prayers in the specified time and not offering it in Masjid in Congregation.

8) Not giving out the obligatory Zakah.

9) Not fasting in the month of Ramadan without an exception.

10) Getting involved in any murder or committing suicide.

11) Accusing others of fornication in a wrong manner.

12) Consuming the wealth of orphan and exercising injustice.

13) Usury or Riba.

14) Damaging the entrusted property and not paying any debts and adopting any unlawful manner of acquiring wealth.

15) Misuse of wealth.

16) Showing the disrespect towards your parents.

17) Offending or harming the relatives in any manner.

18) Oppressing other and practicing injustice against people.

19) Not presenting the truth and concealing it and telling lies.

20) Eating the meat of dead animals, or taking any unlawful or haram food.

21) Eating the dog meat and birds of prey.

22) Eating the slaughtered animal in the name of Allah.

23) Wearing hanging or using the Christian cross and some other symbols that are prohibited in Islam.

24) Wearing the gold and silk garments.


It is important to mention that Islam certainly considers all the transactions and dealing lawful as far as they don’t have any factor if illegality in them. Therefore, the religion Islam also explains what is forbidden in a clear manner. All the teachings of Islam can be well understood by reading and reciting the Quran with translation.

Sister Fatima, I believe you have a typo on point 22. I think you meant "eating the animal slaughtered in the name of other than Allah".
