Al-Darsul awwal: jam3u taalibin huwa tullaabun. (Lesson 1: The plural of Taalib 'student' is Tullaab 'students'.)

Al-Darsul Thaani: 'Li' huwa harful jar, fa yusarrifu i3raaba 3alal 'Tullaabun' ila majroorin ya3ni 'Tullaabin", laisa mansoobin. Wa kadhaalik, 'jadeedun' wa "qadeemun' yakunaani majroorin. ( Lesson 2: 'Li' is a preposition, thus it will change Tullaabun to a kasra-wanting state i.e. 'Tullaabin', and not to a fatha-wanting state. And like this 'jadeedun' and 'qadeemun' will be in a kasra-wanting state.

The red part is you directly translating from english to arabic (which is what I do too). I don't know what the proper fusha way to say it would be.

Also, I think (but don't know exactly why) that the last sentence should be ''maa 3maltu'' and not ''laa 3maltu''

It's because the 'manfi' of 'maadhi' is indicated with 'Ma'. The 'manfi' of 'mudhaari3' is with 'La'. I think you might use 'La' with 'maadhi' for emphasis and things like balaaghah etc.

I think.
